1978 Kelly Peterson 44
This boat is a true blue-water sailor designed for Jack Kelly Yachts by Doug Peterson, the 44 first appeared in 1976 as a cruiser that could handle any wind.
A low-profile center cockpit with a long fin keel – molded in with 10,000 lbs of lead encapsulated as ballast. This one is a highly sought after classic.
Topside, the center cockpit is well laid out, with recent B&G instrumentation forward within sight from any position. A folding Lewmar wheel makes moving about the cockpit easy. A wind generator and solar panel handle your electrical needs while underway or at anchor. Shore power cable handles that while at the dock.
Entering the salon from the companionway, there is a large navigation center to the starboard and a U-shaped galley to the port with a four-burner propane stove, microwave and dual basin stainless steel sink.
Forward of the galley is a traditional dinette that seats four comfortably and drops down to make an additional berth. Across from the dinette is a long settee. Moving forward, there is a head on the port and a v-berth in the bow. Moving aft from the salon, through the passageway that contains the mechanical spaces the primary stateroom spans the entire width of the boat. There is a spacious berth and private head.
The 62 hp Perkins was professionally re-built less than 100 hours ago. The boat has ample tankage with 132 gallons of water and 117 gallons of fuel.
Bottom paint, standing rigging, running rigging, sails and canvass are all very recent and in excellent condition.
The generator and refrigerator are currently not operational, but otherwise, this one is ready to sail you anywhere.
