Classic, well maintained 1966 Buchan 37 ready for fast sailing!
Take a step back in time with the 1966 Buchan 37, a classic beauty that has not only stood the test of time but has been well-maintained throughout the years.
This race-winning vintage sailboat is not just a vessel; it's a testament to enduring craftsmanship and a nod to the golden era of sailing. This 1966 Buchan 37 is a rare find that with a little TLC promises a piece of racing history and a unique and reliable sailing experience.
Whether you're a seasoned sailor or someone looking to appreciate the craftsmanship of a bygone era, this 1966 Buchan 37 offers a sailing experience that is both nostalgic and dependable.
Beneath the surface, this vintage sailboat surprises with its robust and reliable performance (and the numerous race-winning awards inside tell the story of a fast and reliable vessel). Recent work includes November 2023 haul-out and bottom paint, new Group 27 house batteries (2), 5 new dock lines, a new bronze 3-blade prop and prop shaft, new cutlass bearings, and a new tiller pilot (in 2016).
The sails include a 105 working jib in good condition and a reefing Northsail main. The jib is stiff and ready for your next journey. The mainsail is functional but should be replaced soon. The standing rigging is in great shape. There is a boom vang, whisper pole, and accidental jibe preventer.
There is no generator.
Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of maritime history - the 1966 Buchan 37 invites you to set sail on a classic adventure, where the wind, the waves, and the spirit of the sea converge for an unforgettable journey.
While we will always attempt to provide you with a TRUE representation of every vessel we market, during any purchase from Pop you will be encouraged to schedule an inspection from an independent, accredited surveyor and every purchase WILL ALWAYS BE subject to your satisfaction with the results from your independent survey and your own personal trial run.

Condition
The boat is well-maintained and in good shape for it's age. The jib is stiff and ready for use but the main is due to be replaced. The engine and transmission were replaced in 2016. Currently have 78 hours on Universal 23HP. Barb fittings for seacocks need replacing. The raw water discharge hoses need replacing. The hull appears solid with as expected scratches and slight blemishes. The head works but is no longer attached to direct discharge so that would need to be dealt with in order to use it. It is been set up for heat with a chimney installed but has never been used by owner.
