1980 Catalina 30

My wife and I bought this 1980 Catalina Tall Rig sailboat in 2018 to see if we liked sailing (and could do it without killing each other).  We love sailing and have traded up, so Stillwater needs a new home.  

In 2024, I changed the impeller, changed the oil, had the fuel filters replaced and replaced the two batteries.  The dodger and bimini are also new as of this winter (2024/25).  The original thru-hull in the head, which gets a lot of use, was replaced with a brass thru-hull in 2023.  The standing rigging was replaced in 2019.  The boat is currently in winter storage in Chicago.  The boat has an 11hp diesel engine that we have had no problems with.  We also have a cradle that will, of course, be included.

Stillwater is ready to sail!  Last summer, after a move from the Detroit area to Indiana, my wife and I sailed (and motored) the boat from Lake St. Clair (near Detroit) around the state of Michigan to the south end of Lake Michigan (New Buffalo, MI).  At the end of September, we sailed her across Lake Michigan under very rough conditions to her winter storage home in Chicago.  She performed beautifully!
