A roomy cruiser/racer with two staterooms, two heads, autopilot, updated electronics and room to sleep 8!
Take to the seas with a great cruiser and experience living and traveling on your own sailing yacht. This Beneteau First 42 has the size and capability for extended cruises and racing and it is available for sale in North Florida!
This Beneteau is a two-stateroom yacht that can sleep up to 8. You can bring the whole crew along or use the extra space for your voyage provisions. The open salon incorporates U-shaped seating across from a settee. The folding table stows out of the way when not in use and houses the Benteau built-in wine rack.
The galley is to port with a stove, oven, sink, and a two-sided icebox. Good counterspace and storage make it a functional galley for cruising or overnighting.
To starboard is the chart table with seating. The Beneteau is equipped with a large-screen Garmin GPS chartplotter and Standard Horizon VHF radio. Controls for the autopilot are at the helm.
On deck, this Beneteau is a sailor's sailer. The boat is set up to sail as a sloop and has two positions for a staysail if you want to use her cutter capabilities. Shrouds, turnbuckles, and deck hardware are substantial. Four winches are in reach of the cockpit and two of them are #55 three-speed winches. Six more winches are on the cabin top for extra sail and spinnaker handling. The boat comes with a spinnaker pole.
Sails include two mainsails, a genoa on the furler, and an asymmetrical spinnaker.
Auxiliary power is provided by the Perkins 4-108 diesel engine. The boat has a single stainless steel fuel tank with a 40 gallon capacity.
Freshwater capacity totals 100 gallons and is stored in two polyethylene tanks under the salon seating. The boat has two waste tanks.

Condition
This Beneteau First 42 is a large double-spreader sailing yacht that is well-equipped for cruising. The boat's standing rigging is substantial and shows little to no corrosion. Winches turned freely, the roller cars and tracks were clean, stanchions were sturdy and lifelines were in good shape. The deck was intact, overall, some crazing was noted on the starboard side of the cockpit, see photo. There is a canvas bimini which is showing some wear but is useable. The mainsail cover is in good shape. Both are blue. The boat's electrical system was updated with a new alternator, a solar controller-charger, and new batteries in 2021. Two 100-watt solar panels are included, they have not been mounted or used. One cabin sole section is soft from one of the water tanks overflowing on a long cruise. There was moisture or condensation visible from the forward deck hatch and a starboard window. Portholes were generally tight and in good condition. The VHF radio and autopilot were added in 2022. The boat runs great and sails like a dream, the owner confirms. The shaft seal will likely need to be serviced.
