PowerBoat Guide
The Viking 45 Convertible is one of those rare cases where the product is so well-matched to the market that her success is assured. (Indeed, 250 were built during a very successful 6six-year production run.) A superb blend of good looks, and impressive performance, she's constructed on Viking's standard modified-V hull form with moderate transom deadrise, a wide beam and balsa coring in the hullsides. Originally offered with a choice of a two stateroom/ two-head or dinette/two-head floorplan, in late 1988 a spacious dinette/two-stateroom layout become available at the expense of one of the head compartments. Both floorplans feature a mid-level galley. and the beautiful teak interior woodwork and stylish decor package are most impressive. The cockpit is set up for serious fishing (molded tackle center, transom door, etc.) and the big flybridge will seat eight comfortably. Additional features include a full teak interior, a well-arranged engine room, wide sidedecks, and solid I-beam engine mounts.
