Description
The Pearson True North 38 is one of those rare cases where beauty and practicality merge in perfect harmony. While the term "innovation" is often overused in the yachting industry, it certainly applies to this model. When introduced in 2002, her downeast styling was truly unique, setting her apart from other coastal cruisers.
One of the most distinctive features is the twin doors built into the reverse transom, which open wide enough to haul a dinghy into the cockpit for storage. The hardtop provides additional storage space for a life raft, bikes, or kayak, while the extra-wide side decks offer additional seating along both sides of the cockpit.
Built on a high-tech hull with a deep forefoot and skeg-mounted rudder, the True North 38 offers both stability and efficiency. The sliding seat arrangement at the dinette allows seating to expand from four to six people and also converts to a double berth at night.
The aft-positioned galley in the semi-enclosed pilothouse is both functional and convenient, with easy access to the cockpit. If desired, the pilothouse can be fully enclosed with drop down curtains for additional protection from the elements.
Powered by a single 440 HP Yanmar diesel engine, the True North 38 can cruise comfortably at 20 knots, with a top speed of 24–26 knots. The boat is equipped with a bow and stern thruster for enhanced maneuverability and has the highly sought after heritage package with additional high end finishes to make this a rare find in the Great Lakes.
