This Beneteau 523 Oceanis has special place in my heart as the listing broker as I have known the boats history since she was first launched in Marina del Rey, CA. The original owner invested heavily in preparing the yacht for the famous Transpacific Yacht Race (Los Angeles to Hawaii) in the summer of 2015. Racing under the name "Transformer," the yacht and crew successfully completed the race.
The yacht was later sold to my father-in-law who also kept in the boat MdR, CA. Although we never raced the boat competitively like the original owner, we enjoyed many family adventures along the coast and to Catalina Island. The boat was later sold to the current owner who has also enjoyed cruising the boat locally with family and friends. They have also continued to upgrade the boat for more blue water cruising. Some of the recent additions include a custom stainless arch with solar panels and dinghy davits, new Quantum sails, new standing rigging, and a new full suite of new B&G electronics. All receipts for upgrades and additions are available upon request.
With family plans changing the current owners are now ready to sell and want to see her go to a good home that will enjoy her for years to come. The boat is currently docked in San Pedro, CA at a wonderful main channel slip that may be transferable to the new owners.

Interior Layout Description:
The three cabin layout, with a fourth crew cabin/storage locker, provides comfortable stateroom accommodations for six guests. The owner's stateroom is forward with centerline queen island berth, ensuite head with stall shower, beautiful custom cabinetry, workstation/vanity and ample hanging, drawer and locker storage. Two mirror image aft staterooms, each with ensuite head, are outfitted with sizeable double berths with plenty of hanging and shelf storage.
The spacious main salon, also outfitted with custom cabinetry, flat-screen television and comfortable leatherette fabric is the perfect gathering area for owner and guests. Seating for six or more surrounds her dining table to port while her galley, quite suitable for the gourmet chef, is to starboard. The galley sports double stainless sinks, three burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, microwave, dual standup Vitrifrigo refrigerator/freezer units, custom pantry storage and plenty of countertop space.
