Description
This Lagoon 500 F Owner’s Version 3/3 has had only TWO owners and has NEVER been chartered. LOW (1400+/-) engine & generator hours. What makes her different then all the rest? See specs. She is fully equipped for live-aboard, long sail passages and completely self-sustainable. Customized, with no expenses spared, by the manufacturer and showed in Annapolis boat show several years in a row! They don’t make a boat like this anymore.
The luxury Lagoon 500 offers an elegant aft cockpit for lounging and dining. In many ways the cockpit seems like an extension of the saloon, the huge glass sliding door, when opened, makes the salon and cockpit one giant space. There is a wet bar to port, just before you enter the saloon that includes a sink, pressure water a fridge and an ice maker.
Access to the steering station is via curved steps on either side of the cockpit up to the covered fly-bridge, with solid stainless steel handrails for support the entire stretch. This ‘flybridge’ level has a full-width bench seat, where 6 can sit or 3 lay down comfortably. When in sail, it is the best seat and view. Behind the sailing-style helm wheel – everything is at your fingertips. The custome raised navigation panel makes for clear viewing when at the helm, especially in increment weather. Everything is done at the helm, with all the lines and electric winches meeting there. It is the nerve center of this Lagoon.
The main saloon, located on the bridge deck between the hulls, offers a huge Salon, living area! The space is divided conveniently into the separate areas of galley, dining and helm station. A dining setting is on the starboard side complete with a ‘four-leaf ’ table which unfolded to easily accommodate 8 – 10 seated guests; this can also be lowered to transform into a coffee table or extra large sleeping area.
Entering this spacious saloon you are immediately struck by the sense of light and spaciousness. The trademark 14 Lagoon 500 front and side windows, provide natural light, four of which opened to provide good cross-ventilation. They not only offered light and of course panoramic views of the day, but the exterior overhang above all but blocked out direct sunlight; so important in the tropics. The Saloon has two other great features in there, the first being storage. The next it feels like a home/condo instead of a boat.
You haven’t been aboard a cruising yacht until you have a look at this luxurious supersized catamaran. The nav station on the starboard side of the main saloon has a full set of steering and engine controls as well as ample space for charts and electronics all of which is constructed of Alpi Light Oak paneling and trimming, and laminated Wenge flooring.
The expansive galley is to port boasts a large oven and grill, a refrigerator, a diswasher space. Having two dining areas and the galley up means that food preparation is social and the cook is not missing any of the fun being had on deck. By any definition the Lagoon 500 offers comfort for up to 12 guests and while she is a big boat she is also an easy boat to sail, and can be maned by one person.
The wide swim platforms in each hull are easily accessed from the cockpit via two extended sugar scoops right down to the water. The sugar scopps have deep lazarettes for stowing snorkel and dive gear and there is a water shower on each hull. When parked on the marina the Lagoon runs two separate shore power leads, one for the three-phase for the air-conditioning, and the other for the single-phase power throughout the rest of the vessel. Otherwise, the brand new aluminum arch with the the new 5 425 W LG solar panels (2550 W total) can power the entire vessel .
The Lagoon 500 has a fractional sloop rig, with a deck-stepped mast, two sets of swept spreaders and aluminum spars. The hulls have raked stems, reverse transoms with swimming extended platforms, dual internally mounted spade-type rudders controlled by a wheel on a flying bridge and twin fixed fin keels.
