Well, I've had my boat listed since mid February with only a few interested people. If she doesn't sell before 01 June then I'm just gonna keep her. She's paid for so the only cost is insurance. I'm not going to give her away or loose money either so don't come with a stupid low offer.
Are you looking for a fully loaded 28ft bowrider to take your family out on the water this weekend? Look no further than this Chaparral 287 SSX! This Chaparral 287 SSX, in Biscayne Blue, is a luxury bowrider that exemplifies elegance, performance, and comfort in a sophisticated package. This bad boy was built with for the big water for any day of the week! My 287 SSX is Yacht Certified and to explain just how strong this boat runs I personally have had 16 adults on the boat, and I reached 42 mph with just a little trim. I love that big block motor.
I purchased this meticulously maintained Chaparral 287 SSX with the 8.1 liter Volvo Penta engine in June 2021 with only 188 hours on it. The previous owner kept it on a lift at his residence, so it never sat in the water. I am not fortunate enough to have a house on the water, so I purchased a brand new 2021 Nextrail aluminum tri-axle trailer with brakes for $7k and brought her home.
After taking her out on the water a few times I promptly replaced the manifolds, risers, spark plugs, impeller, thermostat, and serpentine belt in August 2021 with 198 hours on the clock. The next thing to be installed was the beautiful Marine Mat snap-in flooring and a brand-new Garmin 94SV in September 2021. And in January 2022, I took it to the great mechanics at the Lands End Maina in Apollo Beach, FL where they replaced all fluids and inspected the gears and propeller. So, with a clean bill of health we were ready for a great summer of fun in Tampa Bay.
As with anything a man owns, there is always something that we want to upgrade. So, a brand-new Bluetooth stereo system was professionally installed and tuned in June 2022 at a cost of close to $10k. I had six Kicker speakers that have color changing LED’s, two Kicker tower speakers with LED’s put into the arch, two 12-inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofers, two Fusion amps, a new Clarion Bluetooth head unit, and a Clarion remote installed. The sound that comes from this system it crisp, clear, and of course loud. With all the power the stereo system needed I went ahead and installed two additional batteries along with a new NOCO 4-bank battery charger. There are now four batteries in the boat, and you have electrical power for days.
This boat is loaded with other options that include:
Bow table
Bow filler cushions
Bow ladder
Fresh water cockpit galley
Cockpit table
Refrigerator
Fresh water transom shower
Vacuflush head with pump out
105-gallon fuel tank
15-gallon freshwater tank
Bow and Cockpit covers
As of 12 Feb 2024, my Chaparral now only has 250 original hours on the clock. I personally have only put 62 hours on her in a little under 3 years of ownership. One thing to note is that I have flushed the motor and washed the entire boat religiously after each trip in the water. I unfortunately just don’t get to use her enough and I now feel that someone should have the opportunity to use her more often than I can. She is a very beautiful boat, and you will be very happy. It would be hard to find a better example of a 2011 287 SSX in this condition, anywhere!
On 09 Feb 2024 I had the mechanics at Lands End Marine change the fluids and I had them replace the shifter and throttle cables as the were feeling a little stiff to me. This is boat is ready to go.
The Nextrail tri-axle trailer that I purchased for this boat will be sold with the boat. And just to make sure that the next owner does not have any issues with it I had all new Kodiak brake calipers, rotors, brake pads, and hub bearings installed in November 2023 which was well over $3000. I haven’t even driven 100 miles on it yet and everything works perfectly.
I have attempted to provide you with a TRUE representation of my Chaparral. I also welcome and encouraged you to schedule an inspection from an independent, accredited surveyor for your satisfaction.
I will only do business FACE-TO-FACE. I will NOT have any transactions over the internet. If you are unable to do this then please let’s not waste each other’s time. I do NOT need help selling my boat either.
