The Hanse 315 is the smallest of the Hanse line which is getting more and more recognition in the US. The German engineering and craftsmanship is why more and more people are buying a Hanse. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to own a very little used and well maintained 2016 Hanse. Two staterooms, a spacious salon with L-shaped pantry and the largest cockpit in its class provide true comfort.
With new sails purchased last year and new Air Conditioning installed, the boat is even more attractive for cruising all summer long.

Deck Walk around
Looking from the dock before stepping on board "Mawaena" has beautiful lines that clearly show a boat that you will love to sail. Just the profile of the boat sitting on top of the water appears light on the water and you know with the standard 6' 1" keel she will get up and go in a gentle breeze while if faced with heavy air, she can hold her own. Mawaena has the full length battens (instead of the smaller roach roller furling main) and of course the Hanse self tacking jib which makes tacking in all conditions very simple and easily balances the helm.
A closer look at the cockpit and you can see that all the lines are led aft to the companionway for easy access for the helmsman or crew. 2 black carbon wheels spread allow the helmsman a clear path forward into the cockpit or to the companionway for changing the sails or just tweaking. A chart plotter is at your fingertips on the port side and multi-gauges and auto pilot at your fingertips on starboard. A lifesling hangs from the starboard side stern pulpit in case of an emergency. The swim platform can easily be raised or lowered by hand to open up the transom and allow you to swim or get in and out of a dinghy with ease. Visibility from the helm, standing or sitting is excellent with the flush decks and dodger isinglass. Natural teak floors and trim in the cockpit assure solid footing. The traveler is just forward of the helm station to allow the helmsman simple and convenient adjustments to the main trim. Also at the helm station on port is the propane storage and cockpit shower (hot and cold). Forward of the traveler is the cockpit table with sides that fold up for dining or down to stay out of the way.
The deck and cabin top are very flush with turning blocks at the base of the mast and on either side of the cabin top for halyards and line led aft. In the middle of the cabin top is the main cabin Hatch with a natural vent (allowing air to circulate and natural light below in the cabin. The deck mounted mast has a Seldon boom vang and the mainsail has an easy pack sail cover with full length battens and lazy jacks to keep the sail under control and quickly zip up when you drop the sail.
Just forward of the mast is the self tailing jib track and the forward hatch which also has a vent in it. The anchor locker has plenty of room for the anchor chain and windlass (which has a remote control) for the plow anchor on the bow.
Walk around below
Going down the companionway, even with the curtains down, the main cabin is bright and cheerful. The galley is "L" shaped with the sink and counter space forward with access to the refrigerator under the counter space. A two burner gimballed stove with oven faces into the cabin with shelves and cabinet behind a small counter and drawers aft.
Aft of the galley is the aft cabin which has a good size double bed oriented from starboard to port (rather than the traditional bow to stern). In the aft cabin is a small hanging locker with a shelf, natural light and ventilation from a cockpit port and overhead port (that is under the dodger), and reading lights.
The main cabin with NEW Air Conditioning installed has very comfortable seating on either side with shelves and storage lockers on either side. The nav station (on port) is a small table with the electric panel, VHF radio, and temperature control for the air conditioning system. The 110 electric panel is underneath the nav table.
The forward cabin has multiple configurations which allows you to turn the whole forward cabin into a large bed or have a seat and stand up head room with a smaller "V" berth. There's also a small locker for storage on the starboard side.
The head is aft of the nav station on the port side with a manual pump head, standing head room wand shower and sink.
Access to the engine is from either side and mostly from sliding the companionway step forward. The engine starting battery is on a shelf over the engine.
